Evaluation of the Effect of Low Level Laser Therapy in the Treatment of Stable Vitiligo

Background: Vitiligo is a chronic cutaneous disease characterized by hypo- or depigmented patches that leave psychological impact on the patients. New treatment modalities have been developed to shorten duration of vitiligo with fewer side effects.
 Objective: To evaluate effect low-level laser therapy (LLLT) in stable vitiligo.
 Patients and Methods: The study included 20 patients overall symmetrical lesions. For each patient, one site was treated LLLT & NB-UVB twice weekly for 3 month.
 Results: There statistically significant improvement re-pigmentation, 25% showed excellent improvement, 40% good 20% moderate 10% poor 5% no after months therapy. Side effects were minimal transient both sides.
 Conclusion: combination could be considered as safe tolerable technique vitiligo. Longer follow up needed.
